How the Tree Stands

Poems are trees
Trees are always trees
They sprout
From the start
A little seedling
To the end
Like branches

Poems are trees
They start and stretch out as far as the mind will reach
From a base that will never fall nor die
An idea too strong to up root with any tools
A passion that holds on against the strong wind

Poems are trees
They have points
Each stanza
Another branch
On those branches
Leaves, that cling on
With all hope, but eventually will fall with time
