LOOK AT ME
Your daughter, friend, cousin, sister, niece
freak or outcast. Whatever you wish
I AM HOMELESS
Doesn’t really matter, white or black. Hispanic
or Italian, any culture or race. I am
TREATED THE SAME
All you see is “look at me… I am homeless”
I walk the block in search of food. You think
TRULY IS HOMELESS
Throughout the days, weeks, months, people
stare, point, whisper. I know it’s about me
WHY HIDE IT
You judge and tease me never really knowing
the real person inside of me. As you live life
TAKING EVERYTHING FOR GRANTED”
I watch from the window, wishing I was you.
But well as you know. “LOOK AT ME”
“I’M HOMELESS”
As you sleep in a bed, a house even better. I am
debating where and when I will be sleeping again.
Bench? Tent? Cellar? Today? Tomorrow?
“I’M HOMELESS”
“LOOK AT ME
