Empty lockers and white walls.

Hard lustrous floors reflecting the cold industrial lights.
Books about nothing and rows of wasted paper.
Fake laughter and personalities fill blank space.
Repetitive days seem to go on until death takes its course.
No surprises.
Herded from room to room by a bell like cattle.
Sitting in hard seats learning to be just like everyone else.
Individuality stolen.
Creativity restricted.
Our minds can only wander so far.
Boredom grows as curiosity washes away with broken dreams.

This building is enclosed in beautiful brick walls.
Trees setting a landscape that brings pleasure.
Merals showing the past, and giving light to the present.
But show nothing about the future.
It’s where I go to learn everyday.

This poem is about the modern day school system and some of the flaws it holds.
