Little birdy on the branch

Travels from limb to limb 
The bird follows the child from the start
Kindergarten through elementary school
And into middle school

Middle school was when the devil
First slithered into the child's life
I stayed on his shoulder through these years
Knowing the devil is perched on the other

High school the evil on the shoulder started talking to him
I did not listen
I knew that none of it was worth my time
The child heard it,
Listened,
And gave in to what was told
Later that year the beast took over
The boy gave in
To the satanic words

Now that boy is listening to the devil
It is time for me for find a new branch
I cannot save him now
