Where I am From
I am from pots and pans,
  From Yamaha and Brass.
I am from the Farm House.
I am from fresh cut grass, the maple tree
I am from the Christmas parties and tallness,
I am from Georgina and Edward and Davidek and Williams.
I am from the stubborn and humble.
From be what you want to be and Jesus
  I am from Catholicism
I am from Michigan and Czechoslovakia,
  Curry chicken and spaghetti.
From my dad’s childhood boat, and the weekends on the water,
  And the family craftsmanship.
I am from my Grandma’s childhood home.
  Where we spend our weekends
  In northern Michigan
  Where fun is like air.
