Dream Girl
My gaze is fixed on her
while her wide eyes watch the stars.
She traps herself in her mind
for hours on end,
Entertaining her broken heart
With the mask of laughter.
No matter what I do,
her reality is a nightmare.
All I can do is stare from afar,
Mesmerized by her being.
Though loving her is a lost cause,
her soul draws mine to it.
She’s the illusion of freedom
In a prison of a world.
My only wish is to be free.
Free from the reality
In which she isn’t mine
