Dream Girl

My gaze is fixed on her
while her wide eyes watch the stars.
She traps herself in her mind
for hours on end,
Entertaining her broken heart
With the mask of laughter.
No matter what I do,
her reality is a nightmare.
All I can do is stare from afar,
Mesmerized by her being.
Though loving her is a lost cause,
her soul draws mine to it.
She’s the illusion of freedom
In a prison of a world.
My only wish is to be free.
Free from the reality
In which she isn’t mine

We all know that one person who doesn't seem like they're connected with this world. That person might even be ourself. Dreaming can be a remedy for heartbreak, and a way to escape, but be careful not to miss the dreams that are right in front of you.
