My Hero
Hero
How I long to see
you
How I long to talk to you just
one last time,
Just one more moment with you is all I ask,
Just one more moment in time,
Just one last time to see you smile and hear your voice,
But I’ll always wonder why-
Why did you go so soon,
without a goodbye
I’ll always wonder
why,
I took the time I shared with you for granted,
I should have cherished every bit.
I just want to say
I love you
I just want you to know that you are my hero.
You are the wind beneath my wings,
Holding me up, guiding me through this journey of heartaches, hardships, and opportunities.
Now you’re gone into the heavens and the mountains that you loved.
You kept us all together, holding us like glue
I will try to live my life
like you.

I was inspired to write this poem after my uncle passed away. I was very close to him and it hurt a lot. I hope people feel a connection when they read this to someone that they wish to see again whether that be a loved one or another person close to their heart. This is my poem to my uncle to tell him that is is my hero.
