The Perfectly Imperfect Couple

Their dog is black
With one eye brown
And one eye blue,
As if he was stolen
From shadow
And earth
And sky.

They are together
And walk in the places
That I thought
Only I cared for,
But with bare feet flying
As fast as their intertwined
Hearts are beating,
They share my freedom with me
And it's perfectly ok.

They are imperfect
In ways only humanity
Has decided for them
Though I can plainly see
This never bothers them,
For as they pass me
On a path of shared freedom,
They smile
And it is perfect.
