In dampness- I scratch my leg

gathering grey mush

beneath my nail beds

curling it into a ball

flicking it down the drain.

My finger- a raw fruit

peels in irritation, peach shaded

grows in reddish gradient

with every layer peeled away

leaving remnants of white shavings.

In dryness- I brush my face

watching the lifeless cells fall

through transparent air

collecting in banks

a pile of snow that never melts.
