i want to apologize to you, kabootar
for saying the spinning and dizziness would go away
before i knew the answer to your worries myself
i am sorry i made it seem as though
the incoherent colors ricocheting in your mind
would make sense once you grew older
when the pain has yet to stop for me
from now on i will say things like, the world is a good place
or, the hues will be understood some days
not because i don’t believe in your happiness
but because i can’t stand to see your heart caught off guard again
