No one tells you that suffering from asthma isn’t going to be easy
No one tells you that it can alter the ability to perform at top peak
No one tells you that asthma is type of respiratory disease because it’s just too many big words for anyone to comprehend
No one tells you that asthma sucks.. unless they have it too

No one told me that having asthma would cause me to suffer from severe social anxiety because anywhere I go I must carry a rescue inhaler
No one told me that suffering from asthma would force me to end up in the hospital close to death more times counted than on both hands
No one told me that having asthma would inhibit my performance in running when my mind said further my lungs said stop
No one told me that I would have to take daily medication for the rest of my life

No one tells you that asthma is one of the leading causes of death
No one tells you that having asthma feels like an elephant sitting on your chest until it’s you telling someone else that
No one knows how to sympathize with you it’s more out guilt
No one knows what to say until it’s too late

No one told me that I would have a severe asthma attack during Sophomore year
I couldn't prepare for the worse
No one told me that people can’t grow out of asthma
No one told me that it’s not curable just treatable

No one tells you asthma costs the U.S. more than 50 billion dollars every year in health care costs
No one tells you that everyday, about 30,000 people die from asthma attacks
No one tells you that you could have an asthma attack anywhere at any time

So what no one told me?
I know now and I am healthier than ever even if I suffer from asthma
And you can too
So don’t be caught holding your breath
