Holding Onto Fear
Holding my breathe I listen.
I stare around the room,
avoding all possible eye contact.
I still havent breathed.
What if someone knows?
Sweating, paralyzed, looking around,
continueing to listen when someone laughs.
I exhale,
I didn't even notice I had yet to breathe.
But it's okay
I know now that I can do this.
Breathing, laughing, smiling,
I did it.
I survived.
