Too many people,
Too many whispers,
Life in high school.
They trap me,
They strangle my soul,
I can’t breathe.
Backpacks like boulders,
Sitting on our backs,
Weighing us down,
Down into the ground.
But if you look closer,
Closer, closer,
There are those moments
That shut the shadows out;
A bright light that we can cling on to.
