"I will write until not a single word remains in my soul... Until every story in my heart has been told... Until my mind's well of ideas is bone dry... And even then I will write on because writing is not just something I do but part of who I am."

I wonder what it would be like without the sound of music in the world
No Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart
No classical, jazz, country, or blues
No Beatles, Led Zeppelin, or Eagles
No piano, guitar, flute, tuba, drums, anything
No singing, no playing, no dancing

Music is a universal language as it has been said
Everyone all over the world understands it
Maybe not the words, but the feeling, the movement, the magic
It flows through their body and into their soul creating a feeling that is unparalleled

I wonder what it would be like without the sound of music in the world
Soundless, noiseless, quiet, still
So much of our everyday lives vanished and missing
It is something I can not fully comprehend
Everything about my life, who I am, what I do, the thing I love more than anything--gone

But a world without music means so much more than we realize
Because music has a broader definition than we give it
The song of birds, the hum of bees, all gone and absent
The rustle of leaves, the whistle of the wind, strangely silent
Even the laughter of children which is music to a mother’s ears

So in essence, there could not be a world without music in it.
But if there is one, I hope to never find it
Because music is my life and without it I don't who I'd be

I wrote this for the 2015 St. George Youth Poetry Contest. I didn't make it so I thought I'd try it here. Hope you like it.!
