"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at the typewriter and bleed."
-Ernest Hemingway

I was with another man.

I saw you.
I had sworn I loved him.
I had lied.

So close
The thumbing of your heartbeat in my ear
Rapid.
I fell in love
I knew
I never had before.

You took my hand
Pressed it against your lips
Intertwining my fingers with yours
Thinking-
Hoping it wouldn’t end.

My tear stained face stares back at me
Pale skin, sunken green eyes
Body shaking
I let myself fall
Onto to the bathroom floor
I scream out into the empty air
He is gone.

You picked me up
I struggled to to avoid your eyes

Knowing they’d make it all come streaming out
You fought my flailing limbs
You lowered me from your chest
To edge of the bed
Pulling my chin up
I cannot fight you
Our eyes meet
The memory is gone.
I cry out once more
Calling out to the memory-
Him.

I drift off.
Escaping.

Familiar light awake me.
Hospital.

I search for somebody.
There he is.
He had never left.
