You Tasted Like Rain MAG
I love the smell of rain
It smells like it would taste sweet
When you first told me you loved me
The sun had retreated behind the mountains
And the clouds shaded the moon and
flickering sky
And the rain made the streetlights look
like melted rays of sunshine
Streams of water trickled down the window
My car bumped over potholes and
through puddles
And my hand reached into yours
Looking at you
And I squeezed your hand
As if, that if I let go, I might float away
So I lock onto those eyes and hold on for dear life
My eyes got teary as you grabbed my arm
Because it felt so nice that you wanted
to be closer
“I catch myself saying it sometimes”
Your words hang in the air along with
percussions from the sky
“No more”
A smile cracks my face and lets out a sigh
You laughed and kissed my cheek
And for the first time things made a little bit
of sense
That was the first of many
But the first time the words spilled
from your lips
They tasted a little like rain
This is about the first time I was told that someone loved me
