sometimes there’s a black cloud
hovering over my head, trailing me around
it surrounds and threatens to overwhelm me
but it’s time to break free of this
tangle of webs, coming ever closer
break free of the past, of the pain
break free from the burdens, the worries
break free of the darkness
into the halo of light, amongst glowing fireflies
twirling in the cool breeze, spinning in the dewy grass
running through the woods, in between the trees
swinging with friends, flying through the air
floating back to the ground
landing on the firm earth
