magenta burns
at 3 am
when there are holes that not even mercury can fill

seeping, stinging, sighing
I press my glass palms against
thick concrete and rummage through
empty boxes,
only to emerge perpetually still searching
for whispers of hazy regret and wistfulness

hollowness stings, a weary smog
that only grows darker when hindered.

wading through fragile horizons and
broken bottles,
sunlight turns to dark when it hits windowsills
and I am lost once again
