i can feel her hands again
holding me against her
stroking my hair and brushing away my tears
she is ever present
she is waiting to pull me back
pull me down
back to the hell where i’ll reside
she is my demons,
my fear,
my self-loathing
her grin is full of knowing
knowing that someday
someday i’ll break
and beg her to take me away
take me back to where my soul was created
take me back to where my soul was broken
and lock it away forever
