One day she was here
The next she wasn’t
I cannot forget her
It was all too easy
It took just a simple act
It makes me uneasy
Just to think about the pact

The fact is I wasn’t there
She was looking
For her daughter to enjoy warmth
It was all too easy
That my mother bird has fallen
Hit by a drunk driver
With only myself to blame

Our last conversation
was filled with us screaming
at the top of your lungs

That I said goodbye
I didn’t even mean it
