Transformation
A girl in the forest,
wandering along as she wonders,
evaluating everything,
contemplating life's complexity.
She sits beneath a rock
and falls asleep
a deep sleep.
She wakes.
Oh, but the forest has changed.
The beautiful colors,
the blues, greens, yellows, and reds,
have changed to grays and blacks.
Her vision is blurred.
She no longer sees the beauty...
It is now the ugly.
The trees once lively.
are now dead and rotting.
The flowers once full of color,
now resemble a night sky.
The sky,
no longer a Caribbean blue,
is a dark grey,
one solid color.
The birds that once chirped,
lay dead on the ground.
The water that once flowed,
is now nothing but toxic liquid,
still, toxic liquid.
The life she once lived,
was changed...
Changed by life's twisted ways.

I write to my emotions, what I feel is what I write. Overcoming obstacles is someething I have grown accustomed to. Adjusting to work with life and not against it is my inspiration.
