I wonder who I am and what I am here for

I am empty and alone

At an age out of time

Since the very beginning

An immortal

It's not easy being me

My people gone

Taken

I live on and on

Eternal

I watched your birth

Your short century of life

And then your death

Well

I like to be alive

Constantly being able to put the blade up to my neck

The feeling of my black, polluted blood flowing

To laugh at death and its victims

I like having the time to learn everything

Gathering knowledge like a sponge gathers water

To have seen all of human history

I like the ability to understand what it is to be forever

But I'd also like a poison for Christmas

A friend to entertain me

Or a poor, ignorant person

To take my place

Today in English. Our assignment was to use someone's poem that had blanks in it as a template to create our own little short. And this is what I saw in the blanks.

I like the imagery that is used in the second stanzas “I live on and on Eternal I watched your birth your short century of life and then your death” Because I recently lost a friend and we were the same age and I feel that it relates to the point of view of his mother like how going on with life can seem like a long journey when the person you have been emotionally and physically connected with since his birth and in an instant that person is gone with an untimely death.

I love the line "i like having time to learn everything" because it directly describes me.
