Fear
You’re awoken
Darkness surrounds you
Curling its chilling fingers into you
Pop! You start
Unnerved by the sound

Anxiety creeps in
Agitating a cold fire under your skin
It curls into you
Making its home in your brain

“What’s that sound?”
A cold sweat breaks out
Dread pours in faster than the tears
Running down your face

But the nightmare continues
Panic sets in as the phobia gets closer
Terror pulls at you as you gasp for air
You tremble and shake, eyes darting around in the darkness

You gnaw at your lip
The uneasiness starts to wash away
As the early morning light
Cascades through the window
