In my head, there’s a world you can’t see
Inside, the forgotten, the lonely listen and hear
For the misfits you toss don’t just disappear
They enter my mind, so from you, they are free

Skeleton had been here since day one
She tried to see who cared but found it was none
For if she fell there was no one to catch her mistake
With only bones to save her she would surely break

My wondering mind asked her how she came to be this way
She replied that ‘no one can have their cake and eat’
If she could not eat, she would give it away
To any person she gave, she admitted defeat

Perhaps she gave it all away
She gave her mind to those wanting advice
Her heart was given to stop tears with no price
Perhaps she gave too much away

Ghost was the second to enter
He never seemed to be too well, not ever
Some days were good where he felt a bit better
Others were bad where he’d write his final letter

He could not understand why no one cared for him
People left him on such sudden whims
For someone who helped people see things so critical
He was sure invisible

And in this world of mine the two of them met
Ghost fell in love with her skeletal bones
He helped Skeleton live and told her the past was meant for her to forget
After time she learned to loved him with her leftover heart
No more did he feel like he did not exist
Happiness seemed to linger in their midst
Together with each other they were not alone
But even a love like theirs can come falling apart

Skeleton fell and her bones came crashing
Ghost ran to catch her but she fell right through him
That love that they has was no more everlasting
The light she had lit inside him slowly started to dim

And after that Robot came to take their place
For after Skeleton, Ghost left without a trace

Robot only thinks with yes or no
There is no place for happiness or joy to go
The land of grey is filled with exploration
But Robot won’t allow it for his system has no translation

Now I’m just waiting for his battery to die
So my mind once again can soar and fly
