Where He Stood
He stood alone in a corner
The scars were hidden under his sleeves
They ran across his arms
Light imperfections that tainted his beauty
His lips spread into a smile
But in the crystals of his eyes, pain hid
In him I recognized the same pain
I had felt for years
But this he didn’t know
Though we soon grew close
Our secrets stayed in our minds
And the scars of our pasts
Hid behind the smiles
We wore as if it were another piece of clothing
To make people believe
We were okay and our lives were perfect

I wrote this poem for a boy that I grew to love in a short amount of time. It meant a lot and took great thought.
