We’ve got no particular place to go, and all the time in the world.

Somewhere is calling."

As I look out across the days in front of me,
something is becoming clear.

The days of wanting to save everyone are over.
The fire is spreading,
those who are burned
will run.
And those who are oblivious have no reason to be saved anyway.

My inner circle are few and far between,
pushed away by the unwelcome new addition in my mind.

But those who stay are stronger than ever,
and as the fire is spreading,
we who are burned run together,
simply away.
To the ends of the earth or the ends of our lives,
whichever comes first.

As I listen out across the vast symphony of what’s to come,
something is becoming clear.

Extraordinary people find extraordinary people
and I have found a few myself.
Some are sprinters, and some run marathons,
but we all end up in the same place.
Simply away.
Not here.
There.

From here to there is not measured in miles
is not measured in years,
is not measured in broken bones,
is not measured in the drops of sweat on our foreheads, blood on our hands,
and is not measured in how many of us don’t make it.

That place is simply there.

Where the extraordinary are finally ordinary,
and there is no right or wrong,
where the armor weighing us down
becomes finally unnecessary.

If we have to go to the ends of the earth to find it,
so be it.
If we die in the process of this adventure,
so be it.
If it takes until the end of time to triumphantly arrive, finally and for all,
so be it.

I don’t want education,
I don’t want money,
I don’t want family,
I don’t want love,
I don’t want this world,
when I know that place is only an end of the earth away.

I don’t have to tell you who you are.
Those who will run with me,
and those I will run for
know their own names.

If you see me again, know that I’m trying to find that place.
Know that I need running partners.
Know that none of us know where we’re going,
but the blind leading the blind can still find their way.

Know it’s gonna be okay.
We’ll run to heaven and we’ll run to hell together,
and we’ll keep running if that somewhere, someplace, is further.
We will get there.

It may be a lifetime,
it may be a trip to the ends of the earth,
it may mean a thousand broken bones,
it may mean an ocean of our sweat and blood,
but we will get there.

Afterall, if nowhere is somewhere, then let’s go nowhere, because we’ll find it eventually.
We’ve got no particular place to go, and all the time in the world.

Somewhere is calling.
