¿Black?
It’s the dark.
When it wins in the battle against twinkling Christmas lights
Brings the cold
Cloaking trembling bodies and hiding flaws
Bringing on goose-bumps from anticipation of touch
When it takes away your sense of navigation
And you find yourself somewhere
Alone.
The backdrop for exhalation
Puffs of smoke
It’s the setting for the amber glow of a cigarette.
Stage curtains for the love ballet of the stars and the moon,
I’m in the dark.
