Six months ago, I tore out my heart:
wrapped it in aluminum,
and sunk it to the sea.
You,
and your smug smile and peeling skin.
How deep did you have to dive?
Let’s succumb to sleeping together
in teeny twin beds and bundled in blankets.
I’ll always try for your heart.
Only the ocean will eavesdrop
on our snoring through the static.
Thank you for your little bit of love.
