I feel like clawing my eyes out but all that will do is stain my fingers with blood

The aching in my heart is so vast the cracks of a concrete sidewalk don’t compare

My head is throbbing with the thoughts that race all around, bumping at the walls of my skull

Each step I take requires enough energy to run a marathon, all I am is exhaustion

My eyelids are heavy, 10-pound weights struggling to stay open

The emptiness inside me is a hole too deep to reach the bottom

I am nothing but veins and muscles, skin and bones

I am a vacant shell, I have no substance

I am a ghost drifting through each day in hopes of feeling something, anything

But, I am nothing.
