The strongest of us
are flowers
who chose to grow downwards
pushing past
the tough soil
and the rocks
not knowing
but believing
in the beautiful sky
past the pebbles
and sometime
in the middle of the night
not with a loud,
triumphant cry
but with a silent, little
'pop'
below our own roots
we emerge
with bruised
and
endlessly beautiful
yet never torn
petals.
