Ways To my Dark Secret

Your Vicodin tainted mouth.

Your red colored lips.

Pierced with disdain for sobriety.

When she sees you she wants more of an embrass.

But turns away quickly because you have grown so much.

You are a man now, closer this way than that.

There is no way to bring her baby boy back.

She let you go.

Giving and giving and finally I have given far too much.

I am all out of whiskey so you are better off leaving well enough alone.

Your body is covered in well-aged scars.

That forms flowers, patterns and sugar coats all of you.

And I celebrate you.

And I praise you.

Now you feel so alive.

I took you inside and sat you on a glass.

I pulled part the lies that you tell yourself.

And I watched as you fell apart.

I grabbed all of the pieces of you and your torment.

I watched you change.

You never had those eyes.

I looked at your cross, then I looked away.

I burned down your cross and you loaned me away.

I will swoon, fall, crash upon my knees.

Will you ever pay attention?

Will you play along too?

Oh boy, we are the same.

Your sweet brittle bones and aching to be ripped away.

I will oblige.
