I know a girl who hangs her head over her heart like a guillotine
in anticipation of the day gravity will finally take over,
because death is all that she lives for.
hallucinations born from depression visit her like grim reapers, advertising
the pamphlets of false sanctuary that hang from their scythes, and disguise
the fact that they really just want to eat her.
and, somehow,
nobody has noticed that she isn’t breathing
