Red hearts and smiles
Locked fingers and sweet kisses
It is shown through
Deep quotes and long embraces
But what is not portrayed
Are the tears and sorrow
The sleepless nights, the sad music
And the heartbroken messages written at 2am
The bitter part of love
Is often swept under the rug
We want the warm sunshines of love
But can't bear the heavy rains that follow
We get so attached to the idea of affection
That we overlook the inevitable hurt
Love is a beautiful ocean in our eyes
So we ignore the tsunami it creates
The tsunami that sweeps us off our feet
and leaves us broken
