Tearing
Eating yourself alive;
What’s that name for a cannibal
that tears their hair out
and weaves a room
A room with no windows so that you don’t have to see
the red in your eyes
bloodlust for your own skin
A snake chasing its tail
Sinking its fangs into its flesh
Victory
is
a loss.
You can’t tell, though,
because you took your eyelashes
ripped them out
sewed your eyelids shut with them
And the cannibals
thier hunger for skin
conflicts with the desire to stay alive
so they satisfy themselves in a way
by chewing holes in their cheeks
pulling their fingernails out
until that pain isn't enough
Then they begin to cut off their own heads,
and the heads roll away
smiling all the time.
