His voice is in the sea.
His words are in the wind.
His heart is the sun;
it rises again and again.

His memories are our air,
forever in our view.
His eyes are the stars,
watching over us too.

No matter how much it hurts,
No matter how much we cry,
No matter the pain,
we won't say goodbye.

For forever he is in a kingdom
coated in sliver and gold,
and he is rescued in a world
where he will never grow old.

So don't think this is the end.
he still is very much here.
Watching over our hearts,
With love, but no fear.

If his voice is the sea,
and his words are the wind.
If his heart is the sun;
It will keep rising, over and over again.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem the day before my grandpa's funeral. My mom asked me if I wanted to say something or write something down for someone to say during the service. Instead, I gave her this poem. She cried when she read it and it was read aloud near the end of the service.
