The Unicorn
Her gleaming white Tail whipped at my legs
As I straddled her bare back;
She didn't like the look of the Darkness,
The deep, black Shadows that danced
And writhed.
The craggily tree limbs caught in her Mane,
Flinging into my face when they tugged free.
Her star-lit eyes shot back and forth,
Jumping at every crone’s hand
Dangling down.
Her silver Hooves clopped down the trail,
Making me bounce as if with glee.
She bared her sparkling horn in defense
As the moon’s light left us behind,
Leaving only Darkness.
Our journey was not meant to be
Filled with Darkness;
The evil witch’s power gains the closer
To her domain we travel.
But my Love, the prince, will parish
If my Glorious and I fail.
