Summer Morning

The mountains are caressed
by the suns warm rays.
Blue jays twitter
in the orange-washed trees.

Brisk air slips
into every crevasse
and shadows shrink
back into dimly lit holes.

The air warms slowly
in a bath of light.
Flowers relax their petals
revealing their beauty.

Along the sunrise
runs a fluid stroke
of red and orange
still wet and running.
