Your mother and father say
Lights out at nine o'clock
On the movie sets they say
Lights camera actin
Your great grandparents say
Lights out at six o'clock

And I say
The best lights are under my face
And I say
The best lights are the ones I dance in
And I say
The best lights are the ones I sing with
And I say
The best lights are on stage
