"Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing." -Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

I’ve unleashed upon a simple bridge a clawing, leaping flame,
I’ve caved in sprawling tunnels, and I’ve dug them just the same,
I’ve beaten beasts with sharpened swords to nothing but a heap,
I’ve overcome a valley with a single gallant leap.
The sea is but a swimming hole, the sky is but a vacant lot,
A great war is a small prospect to the things that I have fought,
My life is but a mountain that I’m destined to out-climb,
The only thing that I have trouble conquering is time.
