A flicker of orange-flecked yellow,
smoke swirling around the

fringes of hot vapor
twisting imagination, a haze

a mirage, a surge of sultry
wind. A drop of sweat on the brows

of convoluted figurines of wisp
spiraling into impalpability

evaporating
entangling with swift gasps, and
quivering lips

a breath of brief drizzle, masqueraded
by orphan echoes

of stricken chords resonating with
anguish

on linens

shadows
swaying into obscurity:

a scream, a shudder and then

silence

the end

The author's comments:
It is inspired by a play I had watched and I was completely mesmerize. It had horror undertones which had my heart hammering till the end.
