There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

I still remember how I felt

When I was strolling through the fog

It surrounded me, a blanket of misty white

And engulfed anything in my arms reach

It was soothing

And horrifying all at once

Its like being glad nobody is there

And wishing someone was,

An absent presence every corner turned

Almost like the depths of despair

And the fog doesn’t breathe a single breath

Its peaceful and quiet

It doesn’t want to be heard

Its just like me.

I feel like I’m lost in a deserted town

The kind I’ve only seen in movies

The kind where its only moments of peace

Before something utterly horrific comes to claim you

I like it

For a time or two

But

Its not long before I realize

That I am alone.

To feel surrounded by nothing

Is awfully peaceful

Quiet

And lonely.
