We found him in the basement,
crawling by the wall.
We put him in a hat,
and there he stood up tall.
He tried to climb the hat,
to make his great escape,
but in the end, truth be told,
we killed him with a grape.

The author's comments:
A friend and I found a millipede crawling around in the basement, so we decided to keep him captive for a little bit. We put him in a black plastic hat. He seemed hungry, so we fed him some grape. He chomped it down, so we didn't suspect anything. In a few minutes he was dead. Sad, but true.
