Family With no Relation
I am free and I am in love.
No, not with a boy, not that kind of love
The kind of love when you can’t stop feeling good
You can’t be mad
Those bad feelings, they don’t exist.
I forget it all
The way my mom looks at me, the way I can’t bring myself to look at her
The way they talk about me, talk to me
The way the world is, how it works
And the stress
None of that even exists to me
You make me forget it
The anxiety
The fear
The guilt
The worry
I forget it all and I love forgetting
But I do remember
I remember you
My friends—no—my family
Maybe we don’t look alike or have the same blood running through our veins
But we are still family, you are my family.
Each and every beautiful, strong and incredibly phenomenal one of you.
