"Hi."

My heart pounds
My eyes lower to the ground
My hands shake

You’re coming through the door
You’re entering the room
You’re looking for someone to talk to

My eyes are attracted to yours
My hands squirm behind my back
My stomach has ten thousand butterflies held captive

Your eyes meet mine
Your lips turn up in a smile
Your feet start to move

My eyes widen
My hands slide into my pockets
My stomach ties in knots

You’re coming closer
You’re getting near
You’re standing in front of me

My lips can’t find words
My brain is cluttered
My heart is pounding out of my chest

You’re smiling
Your hand runs through your hair
You’re saying hello

My cheeks turn pink
My mouth cannot hide its smile
My stomach twists and turns

“Hi.”
