sharing steaming cups of cocoa
or kisses
smiling to each other
secrets hidden in their glimmering eyes
closer than close
holding hands, promising never to let go
blushing and looking bashfully at the ground
saying 'I love you"

from afar I can see it all
I know that it doesn't last for ever
promises will be broken
hands will let go
the hot chocolate will get cold
the happiness will fade

but I do not know this joy
I pretend to take part
in what I can only wish for
