Happiness is the oceans water
Where mother and father can play with their daughter,
But Sadness is saying no water is found,
All that's left is cold, hard ground.

Happiness is the green of the tree
Where up in the sky His branches will be,
But green with envy Sadness had become,
When the tree has fallen, his work will be done.

Happiness brushed the clouds from the sky,
Leaving it clear for the birds to fly,
But Sadness in anger brought back the rain,
Now everyone outside is inside again.

Happiness left it's footprints in the sand
For people to follow when tears they can't stand,
But Sadness came and covered the way,
Now people think sadness is all that will stay.
