When I close my eyes I can build it even higher,

this wall that I put around my heart.

Not anything could break it,

not sticks,

not stones,

not bullet-studded words.

I'll keep on adding bricks

and tie them together with blue heart strings

until I can feel the cold, hard weight of it in my chest

and my

...heart

....stops

.....beating
