A letter to my violin.

My violin:

A listener
as my fingertips
push upon her catgut strings,
and she hears the sweet,
humble tune of my sorrow,
my elation.

A teacher
grips me by the wrists,
shows me how
to translate fragments
of sentences and soul
to melody.

A friend
who can sing my
syncopation,
the off-beats of my
internal rhythm.

My violin,
my home.

I love this! I play violin as well and I can imagine writing this to my violin. It flows so well. Great job :)
