We are the sleepwalkers.
We are the sleepwalkers.
The nomads of the night, lonely souls roaming past our bedtime.
Our eyes slowly drooping with every minute that doesn't keep us entertained.
Keeping our eyes closed as well as our hearts.
Turning our brains off cause it's easier that way.
We float down the dark road sprinkled with dying stars and drift into another world.
We sink further and further into hardwood chairs and lumpy mattresses.
Feeling every light switch flick off,
feeling every nerve ending dissolve.
With the upkeep of the day wearing us thin.
we long for the slow motion dive into the abyss of our pillows and blankets.
We hold our attention for as long as we can, even though we can feel our grips loosening.
We try and we try and we try to stay awake,
But we take the overused road, our beds call out to us.
After a while, that's all we hear.
We are the sleepwalkers.
We give into the night,
Because that's the only place that gives anything to us.
