In Dreaming

Intrepid words flood my mind
Pouring out in liquid ink
Flowing into phrases and sentiments
Never quite matching
The gravity of emotions

Each word a blooming bud
But only just that
The dream holds a tree overflowing
Laden with unspeakable, musical beauty
Trapped
By the ever closing iron lattice
Of common sense and
Forced understanding

in dreaming I imagine
The break of an iron promise
Freeing the flood of emotions
At last
To form gravely into fierce beauty
To crack and splinter
The majestic walls I have built
